Most likely, if you are working in an American office, you are sitting too much. Currently, the default at work is sitting. We need the default to be standing!
Lack of exercise, officially a global pandemic, is tied to worldwide killers such as heart disease, diabetes and breast and colon cancer. If just a quarter of inactive adults got enough exercise, more than 1.3 million deaths could be prevented worldwide annually, researchers said. Half an hour of brisk walking five times a week would do the trick.
The reasons for preaching vegetarianism or veganism for meditation purposes primarily have to do with one thing: reverence for life. Researchers found that people who walked the most were 29 percent less likely to develop diabetes than those who walked the least. Physical activity also has effects on inflammation, glucose and other molecules in the body that could help lower diabetes risk.
